Roach Middle School Collects $3,500 for Local Charity

May 13, 2014

Roach RamStudents at Roach Middle School may have lost a hard-fought battle on the basketball court, but the school’s recent Hoops for Hope fundraiser proved they are all winners.

The charity basketball game raised nearly $3,500 for local non-profit With Love It’s a Small World. The organization will use the funds to support homeless students throughout Frisco ISD.

Crowds were frantic with enthusiasm for the game on May 2 as both students and teachers fought to the finish. The final score was 22-20.

“Thanks to all of the students, teachers and volunteers who made this event so much fun to watch,” said Small World founder Thamara Millan, an ESL-ILA facilitator at Roach and Maus middle schools. “Small World is very fortunate to have Roach's support and love for our little ones.”
