Maus Middle School Basketball Game Supports Local Charity

Apr 08, 2014

Maus Middle School teachers and students squared off on the basketball court on March 21 to support a great cause.

In a fun and hard-fought battle, teachers were victorious over the students in a game that raised hundreds of dollars for a local non-profit organization.

The 4th Annual Hoops for Hope basketball game raised $1,100 for With Love It's a Small World, a charity that supports Frisco ISD students each year with scholarships, back-to-school clothes and holiday gifts for needy families.

Another $100 was donated by Marble Slab, bringing the grand total up to $1,200.

Thamara Millan, an ESL-ILA facilitator at Maus and Roach middle schools, founded Small World in 1996.

Proceeds from this year’s event will support homeless students in FISD schools.
