Borchardt Librarian Accepts AwardNancy Jo Lambert, librarian at Borchardt Elementary School in Frisco ISD, was honored last spring by the Texas Association of School Librarians (TASL) with a Media/Virtual Presence (MVP) award for the school library's website.

The TASL honors librarians for their media accomplishments through websites, Twitter, Facebook, blogs, Pinterest and other social media. A panel of TASL officers, Texas Library Association officers, and/or TASL committee members makes the selection of winners.

Lambert says she was excited to win the award and attend the general TASL session. Adding to the excitement was a chance to hear the guest speaker, famed author Lois Lowry. Lowry's books are regularly on assigned required reading lists in Frisco schools.

Lambert thanks her fellow teachers and the administration at Borchardt for supporting her. She says that being allowed to live out her educational passions through her work in the library is a gift.
