As you know, we had a spring storm that caused Frisco ISD to cancel school on Friday, March 3, 2023. Since this cancellation was unique to FISD, the District will not apply for a waiver for that day.
Behind the scenes: The Teaching and Learning Department made adjustments to the scope & sequences after missing four previous days of instruction.
Because of the adjustments and unique nature of the circumstances surrounding the missed day of school on March 3, the District will utilize the April 28 bad weather makeup day for this missed day of instruction.
Long and short: Enjoy the holiday on Monday, April 10, 2023. School is in session Friday, April 28, 2023.
Dig deeper: Last week, the Board approved for the administration to seek a “Missed Day” waiver from TEA for the winter storm that caused Frisco ISD to cancel school Jan. 31- Feb. 3, 2023.
- The waiver from TEA grants FISD the ability to not make up the four days missed due to the disaster proclamation by Governor Greg Abbott.
