Child Nutrition Earns Farm Fresh Challenge Recognition

Congratulations to the Frisco ISD Child Nutrition Department for its recognition from the Texas Department of Agriculture for its contributions to the 2022 Farm Fresh Challenge. The FISD Child Nutrition Department was recognized for its efforts to include Texas ingredients in meals, connecting children to local agriculture and for supporting local farmers and ranchers. The Child Nutrition Department works every day to ensure that local agriculture plays a vital role in the nutrition of children across Frisco ISD and benefits the greater community. Congratulations on this esteemed achievement!

Student Wins Excellence in Mentoring Award

Congratulations to Lebanon Trail High School sophomore Pritika Kharkwal for winning the 2023 Excellence in Mentoring Award for the Corporate Youth Leadership category. Kharkwal has been mentoring young girls in the corporate field through the Step Up girls empowerment organization and has met with congressional staff regarding funding for youth mentoring efforts. Step Up is a nonprofit organization that helps girls define and achieve their unique visions of success. Kharkwal was named during the recent National Mentoring Summit. Watch her speech.

Tom Thumb Donates to Frisco Education Foundation

The Frisco Education Foundation received a $10,000 donation from Tom Thumb at a groundbreaking ceremony for their new grocery store last week! The generous donation will make a difference in the FISD community. The FEF is an incredible organization that maximizes student potential in FISD through educational programs, student scholarships and grants for FISD innovative educators.

The FEF has awarded more than $9.4 million worth of scholarship funds since 1999 and funded more than $1 million in grant money to educators to carry out great ideas in the classroom. Learn more about the Frisco Education Foundation.

DECA Students named International Champions at ICDC

Congratulations to the 48 students who placed in the Top 25 at the DECA International Career Development Conference held in April of 2022 in Atlanta, Georgia. Of the 48 students, 10 finished in the top three of their respective competitions with one team taking home an International Championship in Start-Up Business Plan. DECA is a student organization dedicated to preparing emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management. The competition is designed to challenge students to demonstrate their college and career knowledge and skills. Find the full list of students and their awards.

2023 fifth grade at Plano Symphony Orchestra

Fifth Graders Attend Plano Symphony Orchestra

All Frisco ISD fifth grade students anticipate their exciting field trip to see a Plano Symphony Orchestra concert in the spring. These students have been studying the instruments and specific pieces of music, and they enjoy seeing their symphony orchestra unit brought to life at the performance. Many of their classroom favorites are played during the performance, and it brings about great discussions in our fine arts classes. Way to represent FISD, fifth graders!

Panther Creek Swimmers and Divers Finish Second at State

The Panther Creek High School swimming and diving team doesn’t yet have any seniors, but that didn’t stop the Panthers from making a huge splash at the UIL state meet. The Panther Creek girls team finished second in state, and the PCHS girls and boys combined for individual state titles in four events.

Middle School One-Act Play Zone Competition Results

Congratulations to the Frisco ISD Middle School theatre departments for the phenomenal performances in the UIL Middle School One-Act Play Zone Contests held at Independence, Centennial and Wakeland High Schools. Six schools advanced to the Middle School District One-Act Play competition that was held this past weekend at Frisco High School. Lebanon Trail Junior Wins Award from CoServ

Congratulations to Lebanon Trail High School junior Rishi Srivatsan who CoServ selected to go on Youth Leadership Tour, a 10 day all-expense paid trip to Austin and Washington D.C. Srivatsan will get to watch the government in action and experience two Capitols thanks to the generosity of CoServ!
