Three Frisco ISD girls basketball players are among the 83 boys and girls from Texas who are nominees for the prestigious McDonald’s All-American Game.
The three players are from Memorial and Liberty, which are currently tied atop the District 9-5A girls basketball standings. Memorial’s nominees are Channie McKinney and Jasmyn Lott, while Liberty’s nominee is Jazzy Owens-Barnett. The three were on the same court Tuesday night as Memorial beat Liberty, 37-32, in overtime to pull into a tie for first place in 9-5A. Memorial is ranked No. 1 in the Dallas Morning News 5A Dallas-area rankings and Liberty is No. 2.
The names of the boys and girls players selected for the All-American game – 24 girls and 24 boys -- are scheduled to be announced Jan. 25. The games will be played in Chicago on March 29.
