Access to Digital Devices Enhances Student Learning

Frisco ISD recently completed its goal of becoming a 1:1 district! That means each student in FISD now has access to a mobile digital device supplied by the District to enhance their learning experiences. This initiative provides students the opportunity to hone in on their future-ready skills and gives teachers the ability to adjust lessons in real time to meet the needs of their students.

Frisco Education Foundation Rewards Teachers’ Great Ideas

Frisco ISD teachers are always looking for new ways to make learning more fun and engaging, and the Frisco Education Foundation (FEF) supports those ideas with its Grants for Great Ideas program. Recently, the nonprofit criss-crossed the District to surprise grant winners for their ideas that will help enhance learning in the classroom. Since 1999, the Foundation has awarded more than $1 million to hundreds of FISD educators through grant money for classroom and campus initiatives.

Vertical Art Show Spotlights Student Art

Frisco ISD is loaded with students who produce impressive art, and the District is proud to display their work in the Vertical Art Show at the FISD Administration Building. Throughout the rest of the 2021-22 school year, the lobby will serve as an art gallery that showcases the imagination and skill of District students and recognizes their hard work. The community is invited to visit the gallery, which will feature two-week rotations of artistry from students at each of the District’s elementary, middle and high schools.

FISD Will Open Staff Health Clinic in 2022

Frisco ISD has entered into an agreement with Dallas Physician Medical Services for Children (DPMSC) to operate a clinic that FISD employees will be able to access for free health and wellness services. Starting in the spring of 2022, District employees will be able to visit the new clinic for free acute care regardless of whether they are insured through the District. The clinic will be located adjacent to Kuykendall Stadium in the former athletics offices and will be available for treatment related to sports medicine and physical therapy during athletic events at the stadium. “We’re always looking for ways to improve our employee benefits, and this has been in the works for a couple years,” said Kimberly Smith, FISD chief financial officer.

Winter Performing Arts Schedule Offers Something for Everyone

Throughout the winter, FISD students will be performing in a variety of shows. The community is invited to attend any of the dozens of band, orchestra and choir concerts, as well as the many theatre performances. It’s a great opportunity to see the talent of FISD students and support the stellar performing arts programming offered throughout the District.
