Recently the Frisco Education Foundation criss-crossed the District to celebrate and surprise educators who won grants for innovative ideas.
Frisco ISD teachers consistently look for new ways to make learning fun and engaging for students and many of their ideas become a reality thanks to the support of the Frisco Education Foundation.
“The Foundation sees how important it is to impact students and teachers through these grants,” said Allison Miller, director of the Frisco Education Foundation. “Teachers do amazing things every day and we’re honored to support them through these grants.”
Each year, the nonprofit awards grants to educators throughout the District to enhance learning in the classroom.
Last month, the Foundation delivered 23 grants worth more than $40,000 through its Grants for Great Ideas program. There were two District-wide grants and winners across 17 Frisco ISD schools.
Since 1999, the Foundation has awarded more than $1 million to hundreds of FISD educators through grant money for classroom and campus initiatives.
At the beginning of this school year, educators across FISD were invited to propose an innovative idea or project and describe how it would benefit student learning. Completed applications were reviewed by the FEF Board, which ensures funded grants align with the District curriculum and initiatives while impacting student learning in new and inventive ways.
Congratulations to all of these educators and their co-applicants who will directly impact thousands of students across the District!
