Frisco ISD Boys Basketball Teams Open District 9-5A Play

Dec 07, 2021

The Wakeland, Heritage, Frisco and Memorial boys basketball teams earned the District 9-5A playoff berths last season. The race for this year’s postseason spots, and the district title won last year by Wakeland, begins Tuesday (Dec. 7).

The race for the final playoff spots was tight last year and the same should be expected this year. After nondistrict play, which began in November, two FISD teams are in this week’s Texas Association of Basketball Coaches 5A state rankings: Memorial (7th) and Liberty (20th).

Here is the boys schedule for the opening night of district play. All games are scheduled to start at 8 p.m.

Centennial at Frisco
Heritage at Independence
Lebanon Trail at Liberty
Memorial at Lone Star
Wakeland at Reedy

On District game nights, the varsity girls and boys will play back-to-back games in the main gym. The girls games begin at 6:30 p.m. and the boys teams – from the same schools as the girls game – will play after that game is complete.
