Frisco ISD’s girls basketball teams will begin District 9-5A play Tuesday night (Nov. 30), starting what is expected to be an exciting battle for the district’s four playoff spots.
Included on the first night of games is a matchup of Liberty and Memorial, who are both ranked in the top 10 in the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches 5A state rankings. The two also played two weeks ago in the championship game of the Mavs Fall Classic’s Blue Division, and Liberty won 43-41 on a buzzer-beating shot.
Tipoff for the varsity girls basketball games Tuesday are scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
*Memorial at Liberty
*Centennial at Reedy
*Wakeland at Independence
*Lebanon Trail at Lone Star
*Frisco at Heritage
Lone Star was the District 9-5A champion last year and Memorial, Liberty and Centennial qualified for the playoffs. Liberty advanced all the way to the 5A state final at the Alamodome in San Antonio, nearly winning a second straight state title.
