Celebrate College Week with Frisco ISD

The Frisco ISD Guidance and Counseling Department will mark College Week Sept. 13-17 with several informational events to help secondary families create a plan for their child’s future. Through these events, families will be better positioned to support students in reaching their college and career aspirations.

FISD College Week Business DealsAll students and their families are also invited to take advantage of special deals at local businesses during FISD College Week. Check out the complete list of participating locations and vendors. In order to benefit from the various promotions, students must be on-site and take a picture in a college or FISD school T-shirt, tag their location and use the #FISDWeAreOne hashtag.

"This week is an exciting opportunity for students of all ages in Frisco ISD to explore, learn and dream about the future and all its possibilities,” said Heather Mayfield, coordinator of secondary counseling services. “These events are also great opportunities for parents to connect with their students.

“Families can access the webinars or virtual college fair together and speak directly to college representatives while at home. We hope it's a fun experience of learning and growing together!"

Each fall, students across Frisco ISD apply to colleges across the world. According to the National Student Clearinghouse, 82 percent of the Frisco ISD Class of 2020 enrolled in college during the first year after high school graduation. Most of these students enrolled in 4-year public schools in Texas.
