Free and Reduced Meal Application Provides Further Benefits

Jul 29, 2021

Apply for Additional BenefitsAll Frisco ISD students will be able to receive free breakfast and lunch on campus each school day for the duration of the 2021-22 school year.

Typically, a student’s household must meet income eligibility requirements to qualify for free or reduced-price meals. However, the United States Department of Agriculture issued a nationwide waiver that allows schools to continue to provide meals to all students at no cost.

FISD students must simply select a full meal, which includes at least one fruit or vegetable, for the meal to be free. Otherwise, items will be charged a la carte. See what makes a complete meal. Please note: If your student plans on eating free breakfast and/or lunch this school year, please report any food allergies to specialdiets@friscoisd.org

Although no application is required for students to receive free meals, Frisco ISD is still urging families who may qualify for free or reduced-price meals to submit an application. There are a number of additional benefits that students can receive when a family qualifies and shares their eligibility status. In addition, Frisco ISD receives additional state and federal funding for each student who qualifies for free or reduced-price meals. These funds provide extra academic support and resources to students and schools.

Here’s a look at some of the additional benefits that students may receive after qualifying:
