The 87th Session of the Texas Legislature is underway, and there are already encouraging signs for public education. Many legislators have indicated their commitment to adequate funding for Texas schools, and the proposed budget laid out in Senate Bill 1 includes $65.4 billion in public education funding for the next biennium, which maintains the current funding level as well provides for enrollment growth across the state. Additionally, there seems to be an appetite among lawmakers to change the school finance structure to allow for the funding of online learning beyond the current school year, a top priority for Frisco ISD. FISD’s Government Affairs team is tracking all the education-related bills filed so far this session, and you’re invited to follow along.

How Emotional Agility Can Help Us Cope - And Thrive

Frisco ISD parents are invited to join the Guidance and Counseling Department for a virtual session on emotional agility. When we are able to identify and learn from our own thoughts and feelings, we are better able to respond in positive, purposeful ways. That in turn can help to alleviate stress and enhance overall wellness while giving us the confidence to move forward. Join us Wednesday, Feb. 17 to learn how to develop emotional agility and foster these skills in your students.
