FISD Seniors Earn College Board Recognition

Nov 13, 2020

Congrats by rawpixelMore than two dozen Frisco ISD seniors have been recognized as Scholars by the College Board’s National Recognition Program.

The National Recognition Program is intended to create pathways to college for students from underrepresented communities by awarding them academic honors and connecting them with universities across the country. It is also an expansion of the former National Hispanic Recognition Program.

The designation is determined by the student’s performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT), taken during the junior year of high school. Students who are recognized scored in the top 2.5% of all students from across the nation that took the PSAT/NMSQT in October 2019.

To be eligible for the College Board's National Recognition Program, these students had to achieve a minimum required PSAT/NMSQT score, have a GPA of 3.5 or higher by the middle of their junior year, and identify as African American, Hispanic or Latinx, Indigenous, or attend school in a rural area or small town.

Congratulations to all of these seniors across Frisco ISD who were awarded a certificate for this academic honor.
