The start of the 2020 Frisco ISD football season has been delayed, but each of the District’s high school varsity teams has now completed revisions to its schedule. Each team still has 10 regular-season games planned, with the first night of games set for Thursday, Sept. 24.
The master schedule of all FISD varsity games can be found here:
Current University Interscholastic League COVID-19 Risk Mitigation Guidelines allow schools to allow spectators to attend games, but only if appropriate social distancing can be maintained. In order for that to happen, stadiums cannot be filled to capacity.
Due to the limits on attendance, FISD will not be selling season tickets this year. Tickets for individual games will be available online in the days leading up to the kickoff. Priority will be given to the families of the students who can participate in the event, including athletes, cheerleaders and members of the band and drill team.
Frisco ISD fans will also be able to watch live streams of games on the NFHS Network (NFHSNetwork.com). The District plans to stream live broadcasts of most sporting events held at FISD athletic facilities during the 2020-21 school year. More details will be shared about both ticketing and live streaming of games as the season gets closer.
All UIL schools in Class 5A and 6A will have a delayed start to the season. While the UIL is allowing schools to continue strength and conditioning workouts and skills-specific workouts throughout August, official football practices cannot begin until Sept. 7.
The delayed start to the football season will push the start of the playoffs to December and the state championships to January 2021.
Frisco ISD would like to thank Oncor for its sponsorship of Frisco ISD athletics.
