Independence Seniors are the Rotary Students of the Month
Congratulations to Independence High School seniors Lucas Oliveira and Landry Weber who were recognized by the Frisco Rotary Club as the Students of the Month. Oliveira is in National Honor Society, a 2019 Boys State Attendee and Founder of Frisco Boys State Network. He is also an anchor and producer of Knight TV, the campus news station. He volunteers as a broadcaster at the Ford Center and is studying to be a real estate agent. He wants to double major in political science and international studies with a focus on international business and economics.
Weber is a senior who has participated in Knight Theatre since her freshman year. She is in the National Honor Society and participates in the Independent Study and Mentorship program. During her time at Independence, she has also been a cheerleader, choir member and drill team member. She has held a number of official offices in theatre, including vice president and secretary. She wants to attend the University of Arkansas in the fall to major in social work.
