Independence Student’s Artwork to be Featured at the Wimberly Butterfly Festival
Each spring, student artists from all over Texas submit butterfly artwork to the Wimberly Annual Butterfly Festival’s art contest. This year, Ashley Richmond, a freshman at Independence High School, won the art contest. Her artwork will become the graphic design that will be placed on t-shirts and postcards in celebration of the event.
Ashley’s work was submitted in eighth grade by Nelson Middle School art teacher Angela Mehta, and her current art teacher is Leonard Buscemi at Independence.
