Frisco Education Foundation Launches Esports Triathlon
The Frisco Education Foundation (FEF), Complexity Gaming and NFL Alumni have teamed up to launch the Gamestop High School Esports Challenge. The students are competing in Rocket League, Madden and Fortnite and are vying to win a scholarship to be awarded at the annual FEF Scholarship Night on May 20. Students compete remotely in online tournaments during the opening qualifying rounds and the top eight qualifiers from each game will advance to the finals in April. Frisco High Art Students Exhibit Artwork
Congratulations to Frisco High School art students who are exhibiting artwork at Blue Print Gallery in Dallas. Namita Bhavanam, Abby Lodge, Ainsley Nelson, Lili Palacios and Avery Thorpe were invited to participate in a Young Artists Exhibition on January 16 where top artists from 15 high schools presented their artwork.
Scoggins Competes at Future City
The Scoggins Middle School Future City team competed and presented at the regional Future City competition at UT Arlington this past weekend. Congrats to these future engineers who tackled the challenge to build a livable city of the future!
Student Group Featured on KERA
Centennial High School juniors were featured in a story on KERA Radio for their efforts on their mental health initiative, an idea that originated with a HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) competition. Reedy Junior Named Cross Country Runner of the Year
Congratulations to Reedy High School’s Colleen Stegmann, who was named the 2019-20 Gatorade Texas Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year. The award recognizes athletic excellence, academic achievement and exemplary character. Stegmann won the University Interscholastic League Class 5A State Cross Country title in November.
