Frisco ISD Instructional Coach Training Praised in Book

The elementary FISD instructional playbook was recently featured in Dr. Jim Knight’s new book “The Instructional Playbook.” The FISD instructional playbook is a document created to summarize and provide concise evidence-based strategies that instructional coaches can use when engaging in the coaching cycle with teachers. Excerpts from the playbook and descriptions of how the playbook was developed were described in Dr. Knight’s book.

The elementary instructional playbook was developed in 2018 through collaboration with elementary content coordinators, special program coordinators and the elementary instructional coaches. It is a work in progress that continues to be refined and added to as instructional coaches create new checklists through their coaching with teachers. Congratulations to all on a job well done.
