Her award will cover tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies and travel expenses for her four years at Duke. There were over 20,000 applicants and 6,000 finalists and only about 1,100 winners across the country. La is a member of the orchestra and winter guard and is a drum major in the IHS band. She plans to major in biology at Duke next fall. Congratulations on an award well deserved!

Coordinator Recognized by Science Association

Congratulations to FISD Elementary Science Coordinator Laura Lee McCleod, who was recognized for her hard work as the chair of CAST, the Conference for the Advancement of Science Teaching. As a former President of the Science Association of Texas, she had the honor of being the CAST chair for two years, a position in which she facilitated meetings for volunteers to help plan the CAST conferences. Her hard work in FISD and throughout Texas is admirable.

Students Perform at Merry Main Street

Elementary student choirs from across Frisco ISD, including the Elementary Honor Choir, performed at Merry Main Street this past weekend, spreading cheer for all in the community. The directors and students had a great time performing and representing the Frisco ISD Fine Arts Department. The performances from numerous elementary schools were memorable and brought joy to all who were able to witness. Way to go!
