Reedy Cross Country Runner Wins Regional Title
Reedy High School’s Colleen Stegmann won the 5A Region II Cross Country Championship on Monday at Jesse Owens Athletic Complex in Dallas. The junior finished the 3.1-mile course in 17 minutes, 14.57 seconds, well ahead of the rest of the field. The Reedy and Wakeland High School boys and girls teams qualified for the Nov. 9 state meet in Round Rock, along with individual runners from three other FISD high schools: Frisco, Liberty and Memorial.
Frisco High Hosts Best Buddies Trunk or Treat
A number of campuses across the District hosted trunk or treat experiences for students in anticipation of Halloween. Frisco High School students gathered this past weekend to provide a trunk or treat event for students of all abilities. The parking lot was filled with laughter, children of all ages and tons of candy.
Ogle Elementary Students Plant Tulips
In honor of Red Ribbon Week, Ogle Elementary students planted over 700 red tulips around the school, allowing students to plant and watch the flowers grow over the course of the school year. Students are learning that the commitments they make (or plant) today will impact their future (bloom). Just like a flower needs to be cared for and nurtured, so do the students. The community looks forward to the blooms in the spring!
Reedy’s Orchestra Represents the District at Curriculum Convention
Reedy High School’s Symphonic Orchestra performed at the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development Convention in Irving. As the sole performer from Frisco ISD, the orchestra was proud to represent the District amongst other fine arts performers from North Texas.
