Memorial High School Teacher Honored by VFWElementary Honor ChoirEvery Student, One Book at a Time

Wakeland Boys Golf Team Finishes in Top 10 in State

Wakeland High School finished eighth at the UIL State 5A Boys Golf Championship, a two-day event that wrapped up Tuesday at White Wing Golf Course in Georgetown. The Wolverines were led by Luke Whitney, who finished with a two-round total of 147 to place 15th in the individual standings. Wakeland’s other state competitors were Hudson Hicks, Will Livermore, Shahryar Hamza and Nathan Barrett.

Memorial High School Teacher Honored by VFW

Congratulations to Mitchel Reeder, Memorial High School career and technical education department chair, who was nominated by the Frisco Veterans of Foreign Wars post 8273 as the VFW Teacher of the Year. Reeder went on to win the Frisco Teacher of the Year and also the District 1 VFW Teacher of the Year award. He is honored and thankful for the acknowledgment.

Elementary Honor Choir Earns Grand Champion Award

The Frisco ISD Elementary Honor Choir (FEHC), led by Directors Eric Plyler (Norris Elementary) and Kimberly Wheelock (Christie Elementary), and assistant Directors Angela Neal (Fisher Elementary) and Angela Landers (Riddle Elementary), attended the Texas A&M University - Commerce Annual Splash Day Choral Festival. The Honor Choir is made up of 100 students from all 42 elementary schools. The FEHC received a Gold rating signifying a score over 90 out of 100 possible points. FEHC placed the top score out of all elementary choirs, receiving the Best in Division, and earned the honor of placing best overall out of all competing choirs, receiving the Grand Champion award. Congratulations to these students and their directors!

Thanks for Your Support of Every Student, One Book at a Time

Thank you to the Frisco ISD community, which donated approximately 3,060 books to economically disadvantaged elementary students in the District. The books will be distributed to students before the end of school to engage with over the summer break.
