Apr 10, 2019

Independence Girls Soccer Team

Three months have passed since the season started, and now three Frisco ISD high school soccer teams are two victories away from a spot in the UIL state tournament. The Heritage and Wakeland boys teams, along with the Independence girls team, will compete in the 5A Region II tournament on Friday and Saturday at Standridge Stadium in Carrollton.

Independence will be the first to play, taking on Mount Pleasant at 12:30 p.m. Friday in a region semifinal. The boys region semifinals will follow, with Heritage taking on Mount Pleasant at 3 p.m. and Wakeland playing Jacksonville at 5:30 p.m.

The Region II championship matches will be Saturday, and the winners will advance to the UIL state tournament the following week. The state tournament will again be at Georgetown ISD Athletic Complex, where FISD teams have won four state titles over the last three seasons.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students.
