Liberty Girls Basketball Team Advances to State Title Game
Congratulations and good luck to the Liberty girls basketball team as it plays Amarillo for the 5A state title. The Redhawks beat Kerrville Tivy 34-28 on Thursday to advance to the championship game, which will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Alamodome in San Antonio. Tickets can be purchased on the day of the game at the venue, and you can read more about Liberty’s victory over Tivy here.

Emma Gueorguieva, a senior at Frisco High School, wrote an article about the Independent Study and Mentorship (ISM) program that was recently featured in the Frisco Enterprise newspaper. The article entitled, “How to Hire Tomorrow’s Leaders Today,” describes how professionals can support students in the course, which allows them to investigate career fields of their choice. Centennial is Home to District Coach of the Year for Speech and Debate
Congratulations to John Archolecas of Centennial High School, who was named this year’s District Coach of the Year for Speech and Debate.
Ag Mechanics Welders Take Home Blue Ribbons
Congratulations to the students who competed at the San Angelo FFA Agriculture Mechanics Show and brought home awards. Schuyler Dilks (Liberty), Salvador Renteria (Heritage) and Taylor MacDonald (Centennial) won blue ribbons in the Truck Accessory Division. Jon Anderson and Colin Magee of Centennial High School took home blue ribbons in the Utility Trailer Division and the Reedy High School Team won 4th in class in the Smoker Division. These students are led by Ag Mechanic teachers Bryan Scheu, Allan Pruett and Jeff Spake.
