FISD Teacher is Only Fellowship Recipient in Texas
Congratulations to Patience D. LeBlanc, who completed all of the requirements of the James Madison Fellowship. Patience graduated from Texas A&M University with a master’s degree in History and Government and is a teacher at Fowler Middle School. The James Madison Memorial Fellowship Foundation offers fellowships to individuals desiring to become outstanding teachers of the American Constitution at the secondary school level. The Foundation offers only one fellowship per state per year.
Liberty Girls Wrestling Team Wins Regional Championship
Congratulations to the Liberty High School girls wrestling team for winning the 5A Region II championship last weekend. FISD also had a strong finish in the boys team standings, with Centennial High School finishing second. A total of 12 District wrestlers won weight-class titles at the regional meet, and the top finishers are competing today and tomorrow at the UIL State Championships in Cypress. Frisco ISD-TV Crew Members Interview Stars
Frisco ISD-TV crew members had the exclusive opportunity to serve as paparazzi for Nancy Lieberman Charities 8th Annual Dream Ball Gala. It's an annual highlight for Frisco ISD-TV Executive Producer Eva Coleman's crew, with this year having the adding bonus of students conducting interviews that were shown live throughout the venue as guests arrived. This year's honorees included Julius "Dr. J" Erving and Ice Cube, both of whom Audio/Video Production students were able to interview along with many other legends in sports and entertainment.
Reedy and Memorial Advance to Finals at Winter Guard International
The Reedy and Memorial high school varsity winterguard teams advanced to the finals at the Winter Guard International Dallas Regional that was held at Coppell High School. In the finals, Memorial placed 9th and Reedy placed 13th, a huge accomplishment. Congratulations to all District teams that competed and the finalists.
