Frisco ISD swimmers and divers, along with competitors from across the Dallas-Fort Worth area, will compete Thursday through Saturday at the UIL Region III-5A Swimming and Diving Championships at Bruce Eubanks Natatorium.
The diving competition will be on Thursday and start at 5 p.m. Swimming will be Friday and Saturday, with preliminaries beginning at noon on Friday and finals starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
The swimmers and divers will be competing for spots in the UIL State Swimming and Diving Championships, which are Feb. 15-16 in Austin. The top two finishers in an event at each of the eight Region Swimming and Diving Championships will automatically qualify for the state meet. In addition, among the swimmers and divers who don’t automatically qualify for state with a top-two finish at a regional meet, the eight best times or scores in each event will also earn spots at state.
Bruce Eubanks Natatorium is located at 7411 North First Street in Frisco. Admission prices for the Region meet are $8 for adults and $5 for students. Heat sheets will be available for $3, and a limited number of two-day adult passes will be available for $16, which includes admission to the meet and a heat sheet each day.
