Lone Star Student Wins International Marimba Contest

Ryan Hodges, senior percussion student at Lone Star High School, competed in the International Marimba Solo Competition for high school students at the Percussive Arts Society's International Convention in Indianapolis, Ind. He placed first with the solo "Indifference" by Joseph Columbo, arranged by Eric Sammut.

Football Players Named to All-Academic, All-District Teams

More than two dozen FISD football players have been selected to the Texas High School Coaches Association’s All-Academic first and second teams. In addition, Frisco High School quarterback Carter Yates and Lone Star linebacker Trenton Connolly are part of the Elite Team. A list of the honorees is here.

The District 7-5A Division II All-District football teams were also announced this week, and several FISD student athletes took top awards. Reedy High School’s Will Harbour, a linebacker who also played on offense and was the Lions’ placekicker, was named District MVP. The All-District selections are here.

High School Students Named to All-Region Band

All 10 of Frisco ISD’s high schools had multiple people selected to All-Region Bands and several students also advanced to Area in the march to All-State Band. See who made it to All-Region here.

Purchasing Department Wins Award of Merit

Congratulations to the FISD Purchasing Department, which was been honored with the Award of Merit for Purchasing Operations with Recognized Status from the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO). The award recognizes districts that are committed to following professional standards in the acquisition of goods and services. Read more.

Cobb Middle School Honors Non-Teaching Staff

Cobb Middle School declared this week "Love a Lunch Lady Week" to honor cafe staff for providing hundreds of nutritious meals in record time with a smile. Students and staff also took the opportunity to show their appreciation to custodial staff.
