High Schools Shine at Lewisville Drumline Contest
Congratulations to the Frisco ISD high school drumlines that brought home awards from the Lewisville Drumline Invitational. Frisco, Heritage and Reedy won first, second and third place, respectively, in their division. Frisco schools also swept the caption awards in their division with Frisco as Outstanding Bass, Outstanding Snares and Outstanding Front Field Ensemble, while Heritage won as Outstanding Bass. In addition, Lebanon Trail placed fourth in its division and received the Outstanding Bass caption award.
Talley Student Game Designer Wins Trip to New York
Congratulations to Prince Nallamothula of Talley Elementary School for winning the Most Outstanding Presentation (Jr.) award in the Young Inventor Challenge at the Chicago Toy and Game Fair. He will receive a trip to New York to be a guest presenter at the Toy of the Year (TOTY) awards and receive a private tour of the New York Toy Fair. The award is sponsored by the Genius of Play, an initiative of The Toy Association.
FISD Students Earn Spots on All-State Jazz Band
Joseph Esserine of Lone Star High School, Jude Morris of Centennial High School and Spencer Singer of Lebanon Trail High School will play with the Texas Music Educators Association All-State Jazz Band. Congratulations to these students who auditioned with students from across the state for these coveted spots.
