Construction to Begin Next Year on High School #11

Frisco ISD is moving forward with plans to build its 11th high school near the intersection of Stacy Road and Collin McKinney Parkway in west McKinney. The campus is expected to open in 2021 with attendance zones developed in fall 2020.

Eighty percent of respondents to a community survey last year indicated they wanted the District to continue its model of smaller high schools focused on student opportunity and said it factored into their decision to move to Frisco ISD.

Secondary Schools to Move to Nine-Week Grading Periods

Starting next school year, middle and high school students will receive grades every nine weeks instead of every six weeks. The change will give students more time to demonstrate what they know before final grades are recorded. It will also give teachers more time to assess a student’s grasp of concepts and reteach or reassess, as necessary.

High School Seniors Achieve Top ACT and SAT Scores

More than 20 members of the Class of 2019 have scored the highest possible composite score on either the ACT or SAT college admissions exam. Top scores account for less than one-tenth of one percent of all students who take these exams across the country. When considering the nearly 1,100 public schools districts in Texas, Frisco ISD ranks in the top 20 on both SAT and ACT performance.
