This past weekend, the band from Lebanon Trail High School placed first overall at the Tournament of Champions marching contest in Carrollton, taking home Best in Class, Outstanding Percussion and Outstanding General Effect. Meanwhile, the Wakeland High School band competed against top bands from Texas and Oklahoma at the Bands of America DFW Regional and placed third in Class AAA and 10th overall, earning a place in Finals. Also on Oct. 6, the Lone Star High School band finished second at the Classic on the Lake Marching Contest in Little Elm. The week prior, LSHS took first place at the Golden Triangle Marching Classic in Denton. Keep up the great work, bands!

Centennial Homecoming is an Inclusive Experience

Students at Centennial High School are making sure their peers with special needs enjoy all of the festivities associated with homecoming this week. A group of students in Student Council and Partner’s Theatre are attending the homecoming dance together, complete with dinner and photos. Have fun, guys!

PTA Helps Families Get Moving

Families at several Frisco ISD schools participated in National Walk and Bike to School Day this Wednesday. Organized at the campus level by PTA volunteers, the event helps promote healthy lifestyles by encouraging students and parents to make walking or biking to school part of their daily routine. At Corbell Elementary, PTA members passed out “brag tags” to recognize students for their participation. The tags can be hung from key rings on the students’ backpacks.

Rotary Recognizes Centennial Seniors

Jeffrey Bao and Brian Lee, both of Centennial High School, were honored this week by the Frisco Rotary Club as the October 2018 Rotary Spotlight Students of the Month.
