Priscilla Holt Performs with International Lyric Academy Orchestra

Priscilla Holt, orchestra director at Centennial High School, spent the month of July performing in the orchestra of the International Lyric Academy in Vicenza, Italy. The International Lyric Academy is a unique experience tailored for vocalists and emerging artists. Professional musicians and college students, selected through by competitive audition by Stefano Vignati, the ILA artistic director, comprised this summer’s orchestra. Holt coordinated the chamber music program for ILA and her husband, Professor John Holt of the University of North Texas, coordinated the orchestra musicians. This year the teaching staff included musicians from around the United States, Europe and South Africa. Priscilla Holt says she plans to return next summer. Her students will also benefit from the professional experiences of their teacher’s summer endeavor.
