Program Structure

What will learning look like?

Teaching and learning looks different depending on the class, but students are expected to work independently and collaboratively, while also frequently engaging with a teacher in live instruction. Teachers are available for one-on-one support throughout the week. Students have a certified Frisco ISD teacher who guides their learning while taking into account the unique needs of the class and students.

Students Eligible for Special Programs

Students who meet the eligibility requirements for the online or hybrid model of FISD+ programming will be considered for acceptance based on the same lottery system as all other students. If accepted, your child’s LPAC, 504, or MTSS committee will hold a meeting to discuss your child’s individual needs and the appropriateness of online instruction. Individualized plans may be implemented in the online setting and may require some changes to ensure that a child’s needs are met. Students receiving enrichment and support services must adhere to all guidelines and agreements outlined in the FISD+ Student Profile.

Students Eligible for Special Education Services

Students who meet the eligibility requirements for the online or hybrid model of FISD+ programming will be considered for acceptance based on the same lottery system as all other students. If accepted, your child’s Admission, Review and Dismissal (ARD) committee will hold a meeting to discuss your child’s individual needs and the appropriateness of online instruction. Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) will be implemented in the online setting and may require some changes to ensure that a child’s needs are met.

If your child receives occupational therapy, physical therapy, adapted physical education, and/or orientation and mobility services, they will default to the hybrid model of FISD+ to allow for face-to-face time for these therapies. All other services will be provided virtually and will be scheduled with your child’s service provider. In some cases, the ARD committee may determine that it is necessary to provide other in-person services, such as speech therapy, based on individual student needs.Students receiving enrichment and support services must adhere to all guidelines and agreements outlined in the FISD+ Student Profile.
