Hybrid and Online Offerings

The District is offering two FISD+ programs that allow students the ability to find a flexible educational environment that fits within each individual's needs.

The hybrid program will allow high school students to take classes online and on campus. Students will take their four “core” classes (English, math, science and social studies) online and will go to campus daily for all other classes, enabling them maximum access to FISD campus programming while also satisfying graduation requirements. Hybrid students are eligible to participate in UIL activities, fine arts, athletics, CTE programs and much more.

The full-time online program for high school students will allow students to take all of their classes online. Students will need to go to a campus or other District location from time to time for science labs and to pick up required course materials. Students will have the ability to select classes from a menu of options. Through the rigorous curriculum, students will continue to have the opportunity to graduate with a Distinguished diploma with the choice of several endorsements. Online students will not be able to participate in UIL-based activities and competitions. Students who want to participate in UIL/school activities must choose the hybrid program.

Hybrid Courses

High school students enrolled in hybrid programming have full access to all of the graduation plans including the Foundation, Foundation + Endorsement, and the Distinguished Level of Achievement. They can also graduate with any of the five endorsement areas including: Multidisciplinary, Business & Industry, Public Services, Arts & Humanities, or STEM Endorsement. Learn more about the graduation plans and the Endorsements in the FISD Academic Guide and Course Catalog.
