Honors and Accolades
In recent years, Frisco ISD has been repeatedly recognized by the College Board with inclusion on its Annual Advanced Placement (AP) District Honor Roll. The distinction honors school districts who increase the number of students participating in AP exams while also increasing or maintaining the percentage of students earning scores of 3 or higher. One component is increasing or maintaining the percentage of students from certain ethnic groups who take the exams and achieve at high levels.
The AP program provides students with a pathway to earn college credit while still in high school. Frisco ISD offers more than 30 AP courses that span all subject areas. Students may earn college credit by taking the AP exam in May and scoring a 3 or higher. Even as the FISD AP program expands, student success continues to remain high, with 75% of all exams taken by FISD students in 2020 earning a 3, 4 or 5, making the student eligible to earn college credit.
