Amberton University Offers Summer Institute
Garland, TX—April 11, 2008-- Amberton University is a full accredited, private, non-denominational, Christian institution with locations at 1700 Eastgate Drive in Garland and 3880 Parkwood Blvd in Frisco.  Amberton offers undergraduate and graduate programs exclusively for working adults.  The University has over 30 years of meeting the needs of the mature learner through its nationally recognized programs. 

This summer Amberton University is presenting a special “Summer Institute for Educators” at both the Garland Campus and Frisco Center.  The Institute lasts for 5 weeks (June 16 through July 17) and features graduate courses designed to meet the needs of today’s educators.  Classes meet twice weekly for four hours.  As an added incentive, the University is awarding a scholarship to each eligible NEW student making the cost per course only $225.00 plus textbooks.  *Scholarships are on a first-come/first-served basis.  The courses offered will apply directly to Amberton’s Master of Arts in School Counseling degree, which prepares educators for the school counseling field.  The Institute will offer courses at both the Garland Campus and Frisco Center.  For more information, please call 972-279-6511 ext. 180 or 301.

The DBU Cohort Program:

  • A cohort is a group of students who progress through their program together at locations within their district.
  • Cohort students, with advice from their Program Director, decide what they wish to take as a group each semester as well as the time, dates, and location of classes. DBU professors deliver instruction at selected school sites within the students’ districts.
  • Students in a cohort receive a university scholarship which amounts to 1/3 of their tuition per semester for courses they take with the cohort.
