WHS Drumline Competitive Debut

On Saturday, September 27, the WHS Drumline made their competitive debut at the Plano Drumline Competition held at Clark Stadium in Plano. Of 14 drumlines in "A Standstill Division I" competition, the WHS drumline finished 5th with a score of 71.00.  

Additionally, the Front Ensemble received two nominations for Outstanding Front Ensemble in the classification, and the Bass Drums received one nomination for Outstanding Bass Drum Line. Special thanks to Mr. Gomez for all his excellent work in preparing our students for this early-season contest. Please come out on Saturday, October 4th to support the Wakeland Band in their 2008 competitive debut at C.H. Collins Athletic Complex in Denton. The band performs at 3:15pm.

Frisco Reads

Frisco Reads is a Frisco Independent School District tradition that is funded through Horace Mann and the Frisco Education Foundation's Grants for Great Ideas. The event will be held on October 8 at CHS and is open to the public and school-age children are welcome.

Parent Teacher Conference Day

Parent Teacher Conference Day will be held on Monday, October 13 from 10:00am to 6:00pm. If you are interested in meeting with your student's teacher(s) please contact them to schedule a time. You may use the WHS Teacher Pages to view their email or simply call the school to make an appointment. When teachers and parents work together, students are successful!

Yearbook Orders

This year will be full of unforgettable friendships and experiences. A yearbook helps you relive every memory...all in one limited edition, permanent keepsake. There's nothing else like it. Visit the website and order your yearbook before January 23, 2009.

School Photos

Portraitefx is our new school photographer for yearbook pictures. Every student will have a photo taken and then a proof is mailed home.  The proofs should be mailed home two weeks after their portraits are taken. At that time you will be able to make orders. Please note, there are NO order forms since you are receiving the proofs in the mail.
