SOCThe Student Opportunity Center services students in the 9th through 12th grade from all four high school campuses. The purpose of the SOC is to provide students an alternative to their regular campus. Students are placed at the SOC by their home campuses when it is determined that the student meets the criteria. Programs at the SOC address behavior and/or academic concerns, and other needs of the students. It is our goal, that students exit their individual programs with the tools to be successful both academically and behaviorally.

PACPAC (Positive Academic Change) – Students are sent to PAC for violating certain “Student Code of Conduct” provisions or state-mandated Alternative Education Placement issues on their home campus. Other placements are discretionary, which are decided by the Campus Intervention Team at the home campus. Each student and his/her parents, long with a campus administrative representative, must attend an Intake Meeting. The number of days a student is placed in PAC depends on the reason for the placement.

ACEACE (Accelerated Curriculum Education) -- Fourth and fifth year students who have fallen behind in credits and are not online to graduate are placed in ACE to accelerate the earning of credits. The Campus Intervention Team will review the student and make a recommendation for placement in ACE. The Campus Intervention Team, using district guidelines, will determine the best placement of students. Students not falling within the profile of an ACE student, but who have extenuating circumstances will also be given opportunities through the ACE Program. Each student and his/her parents must attend an Intake Meeting.

9th Grade Academic – This program is for over-age 8th graders who are too old to remain on the middle school campuses, or to attend KEYS (kindergarten through eighth grade program). These students will be placed on a 9th grade curriculum, along with remediation in the 8th grade core courses, to allow them to gain high school credits.

Overage High School Program – This program is for students who are 18 years old or older and want to enroll in Frisco ISD and do not have the credits to graduate within a reasonable timeframe. These students will be sent to the SOC for an evaluation into this program. Students accepted into this program will have the opportunity to work on skills needed to earn a GED and will be supported in making decision about the next level of their education, such as attending Collin County Community College or a trade school.
