Notice for Class of '09 Seniors/Senior Parents

The FISD Board of Trustees recently approved PortraitEFX as a student photography vendor for FISD. Liberty High School has selected PortraitEFX as its sole vendor for all of our student photography needs. We know that our inaugural Senior class and the Senior Class Parents are excited and anxious to begin this historic year and we are proud to assist in any way that we can.

We have provided PortaitEFX with name and address information for all students who are currently classified to be Seniors in the 08-09 school year. You will soon receive a mailing from them with information on the Senior Portrait process. Please feel free to contact them once you receive the mailing.

Again, the company is called PortraitEFX and they are the SOLE VENDOR for all of Liberty's student photography needs.   If you have any questions, you can send an email to LHS Assistant Principal, Mr. Bowser at bowserj@friscoisd.org.

LHS Summer Reading List

Students enrolled in Advanced Placement classes are required to read certain selections during the summer and be prepared for discussion, journals, tests and/or compositions.  It is expected that the reading will be completed by the first day of school, August 25, 2008.

As we continue winding down the school year, there are some very important reminders we'd like to share with our parents and students:

Textbooks - Please be sure all textbooks have been returned. Students who fail to return their textbooks in an acceptable condition will be placed on a hold list until the textbook is returned or payment has been received. If you find a textbook, please call the school to let us know when you will be in to return the textbook.

Final Exams - If a student missed a Final Exam s/he will need to call the school during the summer to schedule a make up date/time.

Report Cards/TAKS Scores - LHS will mail final report cards and TAKS scores the week of June 12th-16th. Parents and students may also view the final report card via the Home Access Center the week of June 12th-16th.

Registration/Schedule Pick Up- Schedule Pick Up for the '08-'09 school year will be held August 11th-14th. A more detailed schedule will be mailed in the Registration Packet that will be sent home the first week in August. Please note that students who are on the hold list will not be able to pick up their schedule until they are cleared from the hold list.

Walk-in Pre-Registration

Registration for new students will begin August 4th. Enrollment is by appointment only. Please call 469-633-5800 to schedule an appointment for enrollment.

Please remember that Proof of Residency : (i.e., electric, gas, or water bill, lease agreement, contract of sale or leasing papers with the proper signatures are REQUIRED. Immunization records if coming from out of state will be needed. Also, please have a report card or unofficial transcript if possible.

Senior Parents

Next year Liberty will graduate its first senior class.  It is an exciting time for students and parents.  The senior year is the source for many lasting friendships and memories.  In the Counselors’ Corner of this webpage is the “Redhawk Seniors” link for upcoming seniors and senior parents.  A group is forming to begin planning for senior activities.  If you are a senior parent and you are interested in joining with other senior parents, please visit this link for more information.

Class Dues
Beginning this year, LHS will assess class dues. This policy is in conjunction with other FISD high schools. Class dues should be paid in the AP Office as soon as possible. A Few Important Reminders
It is always really important to remind students and parents this time of year regarding the importance of the Student Code of Conduct (SCOC) and the Liberty High School addendum to the SCOC. The SCOC and the LHS Addendum are the foundation of the FISD Discipline Management Plan. They exist to assist in facilitating a safe and secure environment, conducive to learning for all students. With that in mind, we ask that students and parents take the time to review these documents and ask any questions that might arise.
