GT Referral Notification

Nomination packets for screening for FISD’s Gifted and Talented program will be available in the counselors' office starting February 5th.  Open referrals will be accepted February 5th  through February 19th.  All paperwork must be submitted by February 19th.  If you are interested in having your child screened for our GT program, please pick up a packet at the counseling office which contains additional information

Coyotes Leading the Pack

DECA Students Advance

To State Competition

Over 1,000 students participated last weekend in the DECA District Competition with two Heritage High School Students advancing to State Competition. Sophomores Terrah Piggee and Aliza Magallanes competed as a team in the Sports and Entertainment Marketing Team Decision Making Event, and will advance to the State Competition in Fort Worth on February 19021. Congratulations, and good luck!

Heritage Academic Decathlon Completes Inaugural Year With Awesome Showing at Regional Competition. 

Heritage students competed against mostly juniors and seniors from 11 regional high schools.  AcDec consists of 10 events, seven objective tests in economics, art, music, language and literature, science, the written SuperQuiz over the French Revolution, and then three subjective events in speech, interview and essay. 

Lastly our students went head to head in a 45 oral question and answer session over the French Revolution called Super Quiz Relay.  Students are awarded gold, silver, or bronze medals in their grade classification (A, B, or C). 

The following students won medals:  

Paul Armentrout - Science Bronze

Alec Lopez - Speech Bronze

Conor McElroy - Economics Bronze, Art Bronze, SuperQuiz Bronze

Jessica LaJess - Essay Gold

Leyatt Hassen - Language/Literature Silver Medal and All-Around (total points from all events) 5th place.
