Bennett and Alma griffin
The Griffins were large landowners and farmers west of Frisco and also owned the grain elevator in Frisco. Bennett Griffin served as a board member for nine years in the 1950s and was president for five of those years. He also donated land for the project center where FISD held its local fairs. Alma graduated from Texas Wesleyan College as a Phi Beta Kappa, a woman of scholastic honors. She was a teacher in the Frisco Schools and a very active mother and member of the community. Their model of community service and spirit had a significant impact on their children. Mike Griffin served on the school board from 1985-1990 and Linda Feld served on the board from 1991-1998. Linda has also served on city council and both she and Mike continue to be supporters of the schools, personally and professionally.
