Scoliosis Screening and Acanthosis Screening
State mandated scoliosis screening and acanthosis screening for all 9th graders will take place on Dec. 8th and 9th. The purpose of the screening is to detect abnormal curves of the spine and the risk for Type 2 diabetes. Specially trained screeners will be looking at your child's back and neck. Students will be asked to remove their shirt, but girls will not be asked to remove their bra. Boys and girls will be screened separately and individually. All of our screeners are female. Parents will be notified in writing of the results only if professional follow-up is necessary. Please feel free to contact the school nurse at 469-633-5508 if you have any questions or concerns.
Safe School Survey
In order to promote a safe school environment for students and staff, Frisco
ISD periodically surveys students on issues related to school safety and
security. The survey we use is offered through the Education Service Center – Region 10 and focuses on a wide variety of issues related to student
behavior, bullying, alcohol and drugs, internet safety, building security and
other issues important for our assessment. Click here to read a letter from Mrs. Palacios. Click here to open the survey.
