Principal’s Perspective
As we begin our fifth year at Ashley Elementary School, I would like to thank our parents for a smooth start to the 2009-2010 school year. Our growing district has afforded each campus with a multitude of ways in which we are able to communicate with families. Ashley families will receive grade level specific and campus wide information from the following venues: electronic marquee sign, general phone messenger, grade level Thursday Folder and campus websites. Please visit our campus website to link to information regarding opportunities in the community previously distributed on paper in the Thursday Folder. Information available might include Scouting, Cheer and Drill Team Clinics, the City’s Mother Son Dance, Spanish Schoolhouse and Frisco Athletics. This is an ever changing list of information, found on our Ashley website.
This year, on our Ashley website, you will see an envelope symbol on the left side of our home page that states, “Sign up for email updates from principal”. Please take a few moments to register your email address in order for you to receive campus notes and reminders throughout the school year. Also, families and visitors who wish to volunteer their time in our school must complete a volunteer background check found on the district’s webpage at http://www.friscoisd.org/back/forms.htm#volunteer
Help us place student safety first. We plan for student academic success and safety each day. Parents can help our Ashley team keep students safe by following these procedures:
- Adults and students should cross the road with the Cross Guard at Christopher Lane and Stonebridge.
- Students should ride their bicycles on the sidewalk, not roads. Students should wear bike helmets and walk their bikes across intersections.
- Parents should stay with their vehicles in the carpool lane. Never leave your vehicle unattended.
- Visitors enter through our front main doorways. Visitors must register in the front office when entering the school.
