Marketing Dynamics
(Co-Op I) (CTEC) – (1-3 credit) 11th-12th grade
Prerequisite: Application Required
An occupationally specific course designed to focus on the study of marketing concepts and principles and their practical applications. Students will gain a real world working knowledge of the marketing concepts through application. This class is partial classroom instruction and partial community work site application. Students secure a job during the entire school year, which is evaluated by the classroom instructor and their work supervisor. Students are required to work a minimum of 15 hours per week, with 10 of the hours worked Monday – Friday and the job must be in marketing, sales or retail. Problem solving skills, higher-level thinking, and work application techniques are enhanced through this class format. Enrichment activities include special projects, guest speakers, and field trips. Get paid on your job and receive classroom credit, too! Students must have provide their own transportation to and from the job. This is a Tech Prep articulated course. This course provides a “waiver” of 1/2 credit of P. E. for each semester completed in addition to any credit received in this course. Students must complete an application and be approved to enroll in this course. Membership in DECA is required. DECA dues are $25 each year. |

Marketing Management
(Co-Op II) (CTEC) - (1-3 credit) 11th -12th grade
Prerequisite: Marketing Dynamics, Application is Required
This is an occupationally specific course designed to focus on the study of management concepts and principles and their practical applications. This is the second year of the occupationally specific course. Students will gain real world working knowledge and skills that help them to be proficient in one or more of the marketing functional areas associated with distribution, financing, marketing-information management, pricing, product planning, promotion, purchasing, risk management, and selling skills. This class is partial classroom instruction and partial community work site application. Students secure a job during the entire school year, which is evaluated by the classroom instructor and their work supervisor. Students are required to work a minimum of 15 hours per week, with 10 of the hours worked Monday – Friday and the job must be in marketing, sales or retail. Students must have their own transportation to and from the job and must complete Marketing Dynamics (Co-op I) before taking this class.
