Technical Introduction to Computer
Aided Drafting – (1/2 credit) 9th -12th grade
Prerequisite: None

A technical course in engineering design, geometry, multi-view drawings, sectioning, pictorial representation, dimensioning, detail and assembly, drawings, reproduction of drawings, and selection of equipment and supplies using the computer aided design software. This is a Tech Prep articulated course.
 
Engineering Graphics (CTEC) (1 credit) 10th -12th grade
Prerequisite: Technical Introduction to CAD or
Teacher Recommendation

Emphasis is placed on the design, planning and technical communication associated with manufacturing systems. The course studies production of drawings and media related to machine design, welding fabrication, electrical components, piping, technical illustration, gears and cams, intersection, jigs, and fixtures. Students will develop technical drawings with drafting instruments, tools, and Computer Aided Design (CAD) equipment.
 
Architectural Graphics (CTEC) (1 credit) 10th -12th grade
Prerequisite: Tech Intro to CAD or Teacher Recommendation

Emphasis is placed on the production of drawings and media related to residential and commercial architecture, illustration and presentation, and municipal and public utilities. This course focuses on the design, planning, and technical communication associated with construction systems. Current residential practices and city building codes are also addressed. Students will develop technical drawings with drafting instruments, tools, and Computer Aided Design (CAD) equipment. This is a Tech Prep articulated course.
