Cougar Happenings

Frisco Community ParadeCougarsLukens

On November 14, around 50 Cougars participated in the city parade and showed their Cougar spirit with cheers, Cougar paws, and by passing out candy to little ones--all aboard Mr. Pierce's antique firetruck. The kids were also delighted to meet parade judge, Gold Medalist Nastia Luken, who was nice enough to pose with the Cougars.

AIM for Success 6th Grade Program

Your child will be given the opportunity to hear a powerful, live presentation by Aim For Success, Inc. that discusses the advantages of saving sex for marriage.  The Aim For Success presentation is fun, interactive, and never embarrassing.  The program has challenged over a million teenagers to focus on their dreams and goals while developing self-control, self-respect, and self-discipline.  You can visit the Aim For Success website at www.aimforsuccess.org.   Students will attend the presentation on Friday, November 20th, during their Study Skills/Computer Literacy classes.   If you DO NOT want your child to attend the program, please call or e-mail Mrs. Bennett by Wednesday, November 18th, so that we can make alternative arrangements.

"Bedrooms, Backpacks & Beyond"

The Frisco Police Department will present information on places students can hide drugs or other items in their bedroom. They will provide information and examples of signs to look for if you are concerned about your child as well as discuss common drugs used by youth. There will be actual drugs and paraphernalia on display. The DEA will also present information on the creative methods students use to hide items in their backpacks. Community resources will be onsite and literature will be provided.

STUDENTS: Join the Friends of Rachel Club!

The FOR Club (Friends of Rachel) is extremely excited about starting its second year at Clark.  There will be three different Chain Reaction Teams this year: Random Acts of Kindness Team lead by Mrs. Clark every Tuesday, Community Service Events Team lead by Mrs. Janes every Wednesday, and the New Student Program Team lead by Miss Kleiman every Thursday.  All meetings are before and/or after school.  This will allow students who are involved in extra-curricular activities to be involved as well.  Any CMS student has the opportunity to participate in any of the Chain Reaction Teams by filling out an application throughout the school year.  Please pick up an application today in the front office, Mrs. Janes or Miss Kleiman’s classroom, or the FOR club bulletin board to join the FOR club and see how you can make a difference at school and in the community!
