We welcome families that meet the definition of homeless.

Head Start is a Federal program for preschool children from low-income families. Children who attend Head Start participate in a variety of educational activities. They also receive free medical and dental care, have healthy meals and snacks, and enjoy playing indoors and outdoors in a safe setting.

Head Start helps all children succeed. Services are offered to meet the special needs of children with disabilities. Most children in Head Start are between the ages three and five years old.

Qualifications for Head Start

• Child must be 3 or 4 years old, on or before September 1 of the target school year
• Family must be income eligible and provide proof of income
• Family must reside in the Frisco Independent School District

In order to apply, please bring:

• Proof of income (tax statement, public assistance (TANF/AFDC), unemployment statement, notarized letter from employer on letterhead indicating employment history
• Birth certificate
• Current shot record
• Social security card
• Proof of residency (water, electricity, or gas bill)
• Current Medicaid, or Health insurance card

Para calificar para este programa usted necesita:

• Que su hijo/a cumpla 3 o 4 anos antes o el primero de septiembre del 2008
• Presentar prueba de ingresos, y que sus ingresos monetarios esten dentro de las tarifas federales para este programa
• Usted debe vivir en el distrito escolar de Frisco, y presenter prueba de su domicilio.

Para aplicar usted necesita:

• Acta de nacimiento del nino/a
• Cartilla de vacunas al corriente
• Prueba de ingresos, declaracion de impuestos 2007. Documentacion de asistencia publica (TANF/AFDC), desempleo, carta membreteada del empleador notariada (indicando historial de empleo).
• Tarjeta del numero social
• Comprobante de domicilio
• Tarjeta de Medicaid, Chip, o Seguro medico privado
