Lone Star HS Faculty & Staff - 2010-11 |
|
| Wow, last week was a blast! We had such a great time on opening day. The staff and students were so excited that by the time Friday arrived, it all seemed like a blur. As you may have heard, Frisco Lone Star High School was featured prominently in the Dallas Morning News on opening day. The DMN was here for a large part of the day and they were able to capture history in the making. There is even a short video clip of the Ranger staff and students during the opening day picture. Click here to see the short video.
Now that we're fully back into the swing of things, we'd like to pass on just a few important items that are helpful this time of year:
- All students are expected to be on time and prepared for class when they arrive. A list of recommended supplies can be found below. School begins at 8:45am.
- Student drop off and pick up is in the front of the building only. This is safety issue and we ask that you please help us keep all Rangers safe by following this policy.
- Most questions regarding district or campus policies, procedures, or requirements can be found in the FISD Student Code of Conduct (SCOC) and/or the LSHS Addendum to the SCOC. As always, feel free to send an email or call us if you need assistance or have questions.
We also like to remind you of some important upcoming dates of interest for the Lone Star Nation:
- 9/6 - No School (Labor Day Holiday)
- 9/16 - Progress Reports (check Home Access Ctr)
- 9/27 - LSHS Meet the Teacher Night @ 6:30pm
- 10/3 - Lone Star HS Dedication @ 4pm
- 10/7 - Report Cards (check Home Access Ctr)
- 10/11 - No School (Parent Conference Day)
- 11/5 - Forthcoming Game vs Farmersville @ 7:30pm
- 11/6 - Forthcoming Dance @ LSHS Cafe @ 8pm

| Recommended School Supplies |
Unlike middle and elementary schools that publish supply lists that they provide to parents, high schools don't have supply lists in this tradtional sense. Because the student schedules are based on their own course selection and vary greatly, it would be impossible to create one supply list that would encompass the needs of all students. However, there are some supplies that are considered essential to the learning process and we have put together a list of those items below. Please keep in mind this IS NOT a complete and exhaustive list and you are not REQUIRED to buy these items. But, we have been getting many calls, so we thought we'd put together a list of the basics that are needed:
|
Recommended Supplies: |
binder
paper
pencils
pens
markers
pencil sharpener
|
scissors
stapler/staples
glue/glue sticks
ruler
paper clips
flash drive
|
| |
| During the first week of school teachers will notify students of any special supplies or materials that are required for their courses. As always, we encourage communication between students, parents and teachers for any questions that may arise. |

| Lone Star HS Art Supply List |
Please find the lists below for the various art classes that will be offered at Lone Star HS during the 2010-11 school year.
