Vet Tech Competition
The CTEC Vet Tech students competed on February 5. The LHS team competed in the Division 1 Contest for Vet Tech 1 students and the WHS team completed in the Division 2 contest. LHS took 5th place. Click here to see individual results.
CISCO Students Take 1st and 2nd place
Carson Hamer (WHS) and Jarred Askins (FHS) competed in the BPA Regional contest on Saturday, January 23. Carson placed first and Jarred placed second in Cisco Systems Administration. State competition will be in Ft. Worth on March 5 and 6, 2010.
Animations students take 2nd at BPA
Frisco High School students Michael Ely and Helen Oldham placed 2nd out of 5 teams in the Business Professionals of America animation competition on January 23rd. They will advance to the state level of competition in Austin in early March.
Mock Trials Year in Review
This year Frisco ISD saw a rise in the number of students competing in mock trial for the first time since the competition came to Frisco four years ago. Frisco CTE, Centennial, and Wakeland all had teams competing in Region X this year. The CTE Center is home for both the CTE and CHS teams...To read the full story and see photos, click here.

Platinum Calf Scramble Winner
Mitch Reames, CTEC Ag Mechanics student from FHS, was the platinum calf scramble winner at the February 6, 2010 San Antonio calf scramble. He was the first student to halter his calf and bring the calf into the holding pen. Mitch won a $1000 certificate from the San Antonio Livestock Show to use towards the purchase of next year’s breeding animal.
Frisco Liberty FFA Officers Visit Capitol
On February 25, 2010 approximately 400 members of the nation’s largest student organization descended upon the state’s capitol on a day that would go down in history as the first time Texas FFA member sat on the House Chambers floor. Continue reading story & see photos.

Ag Mechanics take 1st Place
Two CTEC Ag Mechanic students, Garrett Voegeli and Joey Wilson, competed in the State Fair of Texas Ag Mechanics Show on Tuesday. The students competed with a 5'x8' utility trailer. They placed first in their class. For winning their class, they received a box of welding electrodes and an auto-darkening welding hood along with receiving a blue ribbon for the quality of project. Game Design Students Place 3rd
The Game Design students taught by Mr. Daniel Jones, competed in the Texas A&M Computational Thinking competition in College Station on Saturday, October 3. The “Red Team” consisting of four CTEC students (Josh Cabebe, Mickey Gressman, TJ Sullivan, Vincent Thieu) placed 3rd in the competition out of 15 teams.
FFA Senior Skills Team
Centennial FFA Senior Skills Team competed at District and received 3rd place overall. FFA district consists of 21 schools in the Frisco, McKinney, Allen, Plano and smaller surrounding areas. The team made up of Joey Wilson, Garrett Voegeli, and Seth Mullis are all CTEC students. This contest was 20 minutes long and the students made a presentation about their skill as well as completed their skill in front of the judges. The "skill" was to make a plaque using the laser engraver which is utilized in their Ag Mechanic course & curriculum.
CTE Students Promote Hands Free Devices
All members of the CTE DECA Chapter in the Marketing program participated in the Hands Free campaign. Students shared information at the high school booths, displayed promotional items in the city and high schools,and located sponsors to donate hands free devices. Read the full story here.
