CTEC Culinary Arts & Graphic Design Students Create Kids Teaching Kids Cookbook
In 2009, Medical City Heart reached out to the Greater Dallas Restaurant Association, Frisco ISD CTEC, and Genghis Grill to come together to fight childhood obesity and produce KIDS Teaching KIDS, a cookbook that features snacks for children created by children that both meet the criteria of nutritionists as healthy, and also connect with children's imaginations to ensure that the food will be eaten and enjoyed again and again, facilitating a real and vital lifestyle change. In addition to the Culinary Arts students, we involved the Graphics Design students at the CTEC to create the layout and design of the booklet further showcasing the creativity and imagination of our youth. To download a copy of the cookbook, click here.
Student Designs Frisco Sister Cities Logo
The Graphic Design & Illustration students were given the opportunity to design the logo for the new Frisco Sister Cities project. The winning logo was designed by Wes Dunham of Liberty HS. All seven finalists were recognized on Wednesday, April 28 by Mayor Maso in a private meeting at City Hall along with family and committee members. Wes was then honored at the City Council meeting on Tuesday, May 4. He is shown above with Mayor Maso and Nicole Krasa who is committee lead for the project. Click here to see the 7 finalist's designs. This story was also featured in the Frisco Enterprise.

Frisco ISD is Going Green
Frisco ISD is implementing an exciting new enrollment system this year from Infosnap. In an effort to reduce paper waste, improve accuracy, increase efficiency, and save parents time, we will be replacing some of our previous paper practices with online alternatives. Click here for the full story.
Change in School Medication Policy
There has been a change in the district's medication policy. The district shall not purchase oral nonprescription medication for students beginning with the 2010-2011school year.
Texans Credit Union at CTE Center
Texans Credit Union has made the difficult decision, in an attempt to create efficiencies and reduced operating costs, to close the branch located inside the CTE Center effective June 5, 2010. Texans will still be able to serve all your needs from one of the other nearby branch locations. If you have any questions please contact Texans at 1-800-843-5295.
Home Access Center Information
Home Access Center is a great tool to keep you on top of your child’s academic career as your student is becoming more independent and responsible. We hope you take advantage of this form of student/parent involvement. For login information click here.
Family Connection
Family Connections is an internet based program for high school students and parents in Frisco ISD. You may explore everything from how the various colleges/universities compare to each other, to scholarship searches, to career options, and even to the set up of a 4-Year Graduation/Career Plan. Each student and parent has an account in this program. The sign in for this program is found on each individual high schools’ webpage (either under “Parents and Students” or under “Counselor Corner”). If you have problems accessing your account please contact Beth Jennings, CTE Counselor or your high school counselor NOTE: Workshops will be offered to parents and student on using this internet based program at the CTE Center during the 2010-2011 school year. If you are interested in one of these workshops please email jenningb@friscoisd.org for dates and times.
