Liberty High School and Scoggins Middle School have been selected to participate in the National Staff Development Council’s Learning School Alliance, according to Jacqueline Kennedy, Frisco ISD Director of Staff Development. The Alliance is a national initiative to help educators learn from each other and work together to bolster quality teaching and student learning.
The initiative involves nine schools from six states. It is supported by the well-known Arthur Vining David Foundations and the MetLife Foundation. Teachers will be provided with tools and materials, coaching, a dedicated website, access to trained facilitators, and opportunities for personal interaction at the NSDC conventions.
The goal of the initiative is to allow teachers to benefit from networking with principals and teachers from across the nation to improve the academic success of students and improve professional practice at each campus. Progress will be gauged by using tools such as the Learning School Alliance Innovation Configuration and the NSDC’s Standards Assessment Inventory. |
